Registration, payment, all paperwork must be turned in to our office at town hall BY NOON THE FRIDAY BEFORE YOUR CHILD IS ATTENDING CAMP!
Due to school bus capacity, Adventure Camp will be limited to 48 students on field trip days (every Tuesday & Thursday. Payment must be received to reserve spot on field trip)
Capacity is limited to 60 students on days based out of Thompson Middle School (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Thompson Recreation's Summer Adventure Camp is open to residents and non-residents ages 5 to 14. This day camp offers a variety of activities including sports, games, arts and crafts, nature, science, weekly themes, and special events.
Weekly Themes:
Week 1, June 24-28: The Great Outdoors (with trips to the Southwick Zoo and Webster Lake)
NO CAMP THE WEEK OF 4th of JULY
Week 2, July 8-12: Adventures Unlimited (with trips to the Trampoline Park and Quaddick State Park)
Week 3, July 15-19: Blowing off STEAM (with trips to the CT Science Museum and Webster Lake)
Week 4, July 22-26: Exploring Extraordinary Sites (with trips to Dinosaur Place and Quaddick State Park)
Week 5, July 29-August 2: Walk of Fame (With trips to the Movie Theatre and Rocky Neck Beach)
Week 6, August 5-August 9: Ultimate Survivor Week (With trips to Breezy Waterslides and Webster Lake)
Location: Thompson Middle School with field trips every Tuesday and Thursday. Swimming every Thursday (Quaddick State Park, Webster Lake, or Rocky Neck Beach)
Camp Days/Time Camp will be open for six weeks, June 24th -June 28th and July 8th-August 9th. Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Extended hours from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. are available for an additional fee. No Camp the week of July 1-5.
Field Trips Field trips will be included in tuition. Weekly trips to Quaddick State Park, local beaches, and other fun places! We will be bringing in special guests to visit with campers as well!
Optional: Before/After Camp Care: Extended care hours will begin at 8:00 AM - 5:00PM Summer 2024. You must register for extended care in addition to Regular camp hours.
Transportation: Morning bussing is available Monday - Thursday while summer school is in session. Parents must register for Before Care by June 1st, and request bus transportation by emailing RecreationDirector@ThompsonCT.org.
Students who do not require bussing must drop off at Thompson Middle School between 9:00 and 9:20 AM. All students should be picked up and the Thompson Middle School by 4:00 PM.
