The Garden by the River project was started by a dedicated group of volunteers in 2019. With grant money from the Last Green Valley and Eastern Connecticut Association for Realtors and funds from the Economic Development Commission, the site was prepared by John Lenky and the beds made by students from Tourtellotte Memorial High School. For the 2020 season the garden was planted and maintained by volunteers with the produce going to the TEEG food pantry. For 2025, Thompson residents can register for a plot of their own. Thompson Mini Sports are developmental and age-appropriate intro-to-sports program for children ages 3-5.  Each class uses fun, imaginative, and non-competitive games to help introduce children to the world's most popular sport.  The program focuses on building individual skills, improving gross motor development, and tip-toeing into the world of organized sports. No need to purchase a ball or cleats! The coach will provide equipment for each class! All that's needed is sneakers! Parent or Guardian must remain on-site for duration of class

We mix a little learning with a lot of fun activities. The curriculum includes outside play, science fun, arts and crafts, and special events. We offer both a before school program and a  after school program. Students are grouped based on age into small groups. A staff trained in CPR/First Aid is always present. Space is limited. Payment is made by monthly sessions. You may choose 3 or 5 days per week. If you choose 3 days/week option you may select whichever days work best for your schedule.These days may be different week to week but must be selected at the beginning of the monthly session. New registrations will be accepted on a rolling basis if space is available. Monthly rate will be prorated for days missed. Once enrolled, your child will continue to be enrolled in the next month unless payments are not made by the deadline at which point the space will become available to those on the wait list. Full payment is due at the time of registration.Unless you arrange for a recurring payment on your account.  Payments can be made by credit card, cash, or check. Thompson Mini Sports are developmental and age-appropriate intro-to-sports program for children ages 3-5.  Each class uses fun, imaginative, and non-competitive games to help introduce children to the world's most popular sport.  The program focuses on building individual skills, improving gross motor development, and tip-toeing into the world of organized sports. No need to purchase a ball or cleats! The coach will provide equipment for each class! All that's needed is sneakers! Parent or Guardian must remain on-site for duration of class

EPIC Soccer camps offer a unique blend of professional coaching and fun development.  Our aim is to prioritize the individual by influencing their passion for the game through technical skill development.  Focusing in on creativity and imagination by creating an environment for the players to truly express themselves on the pitch.  Each player will learn new skills and techniques through a variety of technical activities, games and competitive sessions. EPIC camps are all overseen and directed by Program Director Matt Pecheone with Director of Coaching Scott Halpern. Matt, who hails from the New England Revolution Academy of the MLS, brings a wealth of experience having coached within multiple NCAA College programs, youth soccer clubs and nearly a decade with the Revolution. Scott, EPIC's DOC, has spent the past five years with UConn's Men's Soccer as an assistant coach to the famous Ray Reid. Scott oversaw all of UConn's and Ray Reid Soccer School's camps, clinics and youth soccer partnerships. EPIC Soccer will hold two camps this summer in town. Both camps will be four consecutive days from 9:00 AM to Noon. Each camp will be staffed with trained professional coaches from EPIC and directed by Matt and Scott. 2025 Thompson Adventure CampCruis'n USA Returning to Quaddick State Park! The 2025 Thompson Adventure Camp is returning to Quaddick State Park full-time for 2025!Camp hours will be 8:30AM-4:30PM.  Parent pick-up and Drop-off will be at QSP.  Daily swim time!  Early morning drop off (7:30-8:15AM) at Thompson Town Hall available for an additional fee.Registration, payment, all paperwork must  be turned in to our office at town hall BY NOON THE FRIDAY BEFORE YOUR CHILD IS ATTENDING CAMP! For the 2020 season the garden was planted and maintained by volunteers with the produce going to the TEEG food pantry. For 2025, Thompson residents can register for a plot of their own. The garden has 15 raised bed plots available for rent. The season will be from April 1, 2025 - October 31, 2025. Gardeners must read and agree to the Community Garden agreement. The Garden by the River project was started by a dedicated group of volunteers in 2019. With grant money from the Last Green Valley and Eastern Connecticut Association for Realtors and funds from the Economic Development Commission, the site was prepared by John Lenky and the beds made by students from Tourtellotte Memorial High School. For the 2020 season the garden was planted and maintained by volunteers with the produce going to the TEEG food pantry. For 2025, Thompson residents can register for a plot of their own. The garden has 15 raised bed plots available for rent. The season will be from April 1, 2025 - October 31, 2025. Gardeners must read and agree to the Community Garden agreement.
